Policies

Because this is a large event for several hundred people, we’ve got some policies we’d like you to read/agree to. Not that we expect you will, but mostly to cover our backs, so we can say we told you so.

Event rules

These have been adapted and extended from ordinary YorkFurs rules

No-one under the age of 18 is permitted to attend, and no-one is to knowingly purchase alcohol for anyone under the age of 18. Valid, in-date, government ID will be required to be shown at point of registration.
Alcohol and cooked food purchased outside of the venue may not be consumed on the venue premises. ALL FOOD AND DRINK PURCHASED OUTSIDE THE VENUE MUST BE CONSUMED OFF THE VENUE PREMISES.
Consume alcohol in moderation, if you can’t look after yourself or make your own way home you’ve overdone it. The venue does not allow the use of vapes inside the premises.
The possession, use or sale of illicit substances are forbidden. Offenders can expect the police to be notified on the day.
Behave in a manner appropriate for a public environment. Don’t partake in anything that could be reasonably interpreted as against public decency or in contravention to the Public Decency Act.
1. Consent is key. Keep your hands to yourself unless given permission otherwise (hugs, fursuit head pats etc.)
2. Please be aware of others’ personal space, respect boundaries both inside and outside of the venue.
Do not bring weapons or restraints onto the premises. Please also wear public appropriate clothing. Tactical gear is ok, as long as it’s part of a fursuit costume, otherwise, please don't wear it.
Do not bring realistic looking weaponry to the meet, especially firearms.
Any masks that are not furry related are also not allowed as general wear, for security reasons (e.g. ski masks, vintage gas masks etc.)
Visible fetish gear of any kind is also not permitted and includes, but is not limited to, pup hoods, gas masks, restraints, inflatable suits and diapers. Clickers are also not permitted.
Don’t create health and safety hazards with cables and chargers. Be polite with using plug sockets as others may need them too.
Please also be aware that others need to use venue entrances and exits at will, DO NOT BLOCK ENTRANCES TO THE VENUE OR THE PUBLIC FACILITIES ON SITE.
Treat the venue with respect, it is our home and we don't like people damaging our home.
No non-suiters in the fursuit lounge unless you are helping a fursuiter. This grants the space needed for fursuiters to get changed and gives them privacy. When you are finished changing please leave the lounge so others can get use it.
Do not film or take photos in the fursuit lounge.
Do not take any food or drink into the fursuit lounge. Any empty wrappers/cans/cartons etc must be removed from the venue or put in the trash.
Leave fire exits clear. This is for safety reasons, so please refrain from loitering in front of the doors.
All staff are volunteers who have given up their time to run this for your benefit. Any flagrant disrespect or abuse towards staff will result in an immediate and potentially permanent ban from further meets. The identities of rule-breakers may also be shared with other furmeets in the UK and abroad.
No refunds

Rule breaking may result in being asked to leave the meet and/or be refused return to future meets at the discretion of the staff.

Data protection & privacy policy

We will hold the following information from all attendees with its associated purpose:

Name
Email address
Fursona name
Artist name (if appropriate)
Room preference (if appropriate)
Room partner preference (if appropriate)
