YorkFurs 20th Anniversary Party
31st October 2026
YHA York
Somehow, we’ve managed to be running furmeets in York for 20 years - ever since Fioxy started them up in August of 2006 we’ve had regular meetings of furries in the city. From Varsity to Blue Fly to Drawing Board to Banyan to Basement to Yates to SPARK, we’ve seen a lot of venues, but for one night only we’re taking over YHA York, a 20 minute walk from York railway station, with private rooms and even accommodation options!

Party party party
We’re running the party from 11am till late on 31st October 2026 (oooooo spooky). We’ll have DJs and dance floors, a dedicated fursuit lounge as well as loads of space for folks to mingle and enjoy themselves.
You want fursuiting? The YHA is right next door to one of York’s hidden gems, the medieval garden of Homestead Park.
Accommodation
We’re holding the party at the YHA York, located just outside the city centre and about 20 minutes’ level walk from York train station. As this is a youth hostel, we of course have accommodation options for the night of 31st October - 1st November, available in a variety of room types, specifically:
-
30x 4-bed rooms
-
6x 6-bed rooms
-
6x 2-bed rooms
-
3x 8-bed rooms
We’re charging a flat rate of £70pp which includes a buffet breakfast in the morning after - more information on accommodation booking and types can be found on our accommodation page below.

Please note that while we are planning exclusive use of the venue, should we not sell all bedrooms we will be unable to offer this and there may be non-furry guests at the hotel. This will not affect the program of events or rules/restrictions on what you can do.
Getting to the venue
We’ve specifically chosen a venue which is accessible, both in terms of step-free access and good links to both rail and road systems. York is well-connected to the rest of the country by rail, and it takes less than 2 hours to get from London to York station, around 1.5 hours from Manchester, 2 hours from Birmingham and 2.5 hours from Edinburgh.
